February 18, 2010:

It was announced that Hamilton will become home to Canada Bread Company's new state-of-the-art production facility. The announcement came after the City of Hamilton and Canada Bread  company Limited signed a conditional agreement to purchase land for construction in a special City Council meeting February 17 2010.

The federal and provincial governments announced that six city of Hamilton recreation facility projects will receive a totalof $6.8 million through the Recreation infrastructure Canada (RInC) program (Ontario) and the Ontario recreation Program (Ontario REC). The funding, which the city applied for in May, covers two thirds of the total cost of each project, with the city paying the remaining third, per the funding agreement.

US Steel Executive V.P and COO John Goodish expressed his concern about the current economy in North America, making specific reference to decreased demand for autos and durable goods also pointing the slow down in construction markets on both sides of the border.
