Construction to begin on Barton Street
September 18, 2008

This is being done as part of ongoing upgrades to Hamilton's sewer system.

The work involves placing reinforced fibreglass panels through access pits excavated along the roadway to allow the installation of the panels within the existing trunk sewer that runs along Barton Street.

Capital Commercial Pipe Services has been contracted to complete this work, which is expected to be completed in early December 2008. Drivers are advised to be aware of lane restrictions during construction. There will be no parking along this stretch of Barton Street during the construction period.

Every effort will be made to complete the work in an expeditious manner and to keep any inconvenience to a minimum. The Public Works Department thanks the community for their patience and cooperation as we work proactively to enhance Hamilton's infrastructure.
