Have your say on the proposed pedestrian improvements to York Boulevard
November 11, 2008

Provide your feedback on three new plans that will transform York Boulevard into a more pedestrian friendly area and complement the renovations to the Farmers Market and Library.

York Boulevard is a primary street within the Downtown. Recently, City Council approved the two-way conversion of York Boulevard between Bay Street and James Street North. This conversion will contribute to making the streetscape pedestrian friendly and includes a proposed “pedestrian scramble” at York and McNab Streets. The scramble allows pedestrians to cross the road in any direction, including diagonally, during a designated traffic light.

It's a model used around the world, and Toronto recently launched its own scramble at a downtown intersection.
