Official lighting of Gore Park and Christmas Tree of Hope

HAMILTON, ON - December 02, 2008 - The City of Hamilton is partnering with the CHML Christmas Tree of Hope to light up Gore Park for the holidays.

On Fri. Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Fred Eisenberger will take part in the official park and tree-lighting.

Following the lighting, there will be free entertainment including a carousel, mini-train ride and a free concert with Hamilton's own Canadian Idol, Brian Melo.

A Canada Post mailbox will also be in site so children can mail their letters to Santa at the North Pole.

The free train and carousel rides will continue operating in Gore Park until Dec. 24 on the following schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
