Mayor Fred Encourages Public Input on the Economic Development Strategy
January 23, 2009

The Economic Development Strategy is moving forward into a new phase of public consultation.  As part of the process there are various open houses to which your are encouraged to attend.  We want to engage all Hamiltonians on this very important initiative, and to that end we have five locations that span the entire city.  They are:

Monday, February 2, 2009 (Upper & Lower Stoney Creek including Binbrook)
6:00pm-9:00pm
Saltfleet High School - Atrium
108 Highland Road West

Tuesday, February 3, 2009 (Lower Hamilton - including Hamilton West and East)
6:00pm-9:00pm
Hamilton Convention Centre – Albion Room C
1 Summer’s Lane

Wednesday, February 4, 2009 (Hamilton Mountain - including Glanbrook and Mount Hope)
6:00pm-9:00pm
Sackville Hill Senior’s Centre
780 Upper Wentworth Street

Monday, February 9, 2009 (Ancaster & Dundas)
6:00pm-9:00pm
Morgan Firestone Arena - Meeting Room B
385 Jerseyville Road West

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 (Flamborough)
6:00pm-9:00pm
Hamilton Technology Centre (formerly known as Hamilton Incubator of Technology)
7 Innovation Drive

At these open houses, organized by Economic Development, we will have representation from a range of staff who can speak to the specific clusters and provide the technical information required to answer public inquiries effectively.  Finally, for those in the public who cannot make it to the open houses but still wish to register their comments on the plan, we will be launching an on-line opinion survey on investinhamilton.ca.
