Lights Out Hamilton - Earth Hour 2009
March 20, 2009

At 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, the world will turn off its lights for just one hour -- Earth Hour -- to show it is possible to take action on climate change. Switching off your lights is just one simple action that you can take to help make a difference and it sends a powerful message that we care about our planet.

Let's turn off the lights and show the world that Hamilton is at the forefront of positive change. For more information about Earth Hour and tips on how you can participate, visit Horizon Utilities.

The City of Hamilton will be turning off all non-essential lights and reducing energy consumption in our corporate facilities; reducing power at the City's Water Treatment Plant and shutting off decorative tree lighting in the Downtown Core for Earth Hour. We encourage you to join us and turn off your lights and reduce energy consumption at home and in your offices for Earth Hour.
